Collective Power, Truth-Telling, and Liberation

I just finished relaunching my podcast last Friday, and I’m so grateful to see so many of you listening, following, and sharing it on Spotify. I’m really looking forward to continuing this project and offering you more accessible ways to understand how the astrology of the year unfolds—week by week, in real time.

Not for the Faint of Heart

The astrology from January 20 through January 25 carries real intensity. Several planets are making contact with Pluto, which is never subtle.

Pluto represents power dynamics, hidden truths, trauma, and secrets—and it invites exposure not for punishment, but for healing and transformation. As Pluto continues its journey through Aquarius, we’ve already seen these themes play out on a collective level: protests, rapid developments in AI, conversations around aliens and disclosure, and widespread revelations about who actually holds power.

Again and again, we’re being shown that those who claim authority are often deeply self-interested—and that much of their power is a façade. Pluto in Aquarius reminds us that the collective holds far more power than we’ve been conditioned to believe. The 99% matter. Community matters. Truth matters.

Welcome to Aquarius Season

This week also marks the beginning of Aquarius season.

Aquarius carries the energy of collectivism, equality, equity, and innovation that benefits everyone, not just a select few. Unlike Leo—which highlights individual visibility and leadership—Aquarius shifts the focus to the whole. It asks: How does this serve us all?

Aquarius is the embodiment of Maya Angelou’s words: “No one of us is free until we are all free.”
It’s the sign that learns the rules in order to break them—not for rebellion’s sake, but in service of liberation. This is a rebel with a cause. Freedom. Equity. Collective power.

These are loud themes this season, and they’re ones we’ll experience directly or indirectly throughout the month ahead.

Tuesday: Venus Conjunct Pluto, Mars Activated

On Tuesday, Venus conjuncts Pluto—one of the most potent transits of the week.

On a collective level, this can correlate with a continued testing of women’s rights, trans rights, and queer liberation. This is not the beginning of the story, but another chapter in what’s already been stirred. Power dynamics around love, autonomy, safety, and value are coming into sharper focus.

On a personal level, Venus–Pluto brings depth and honesty into relationships and finances. This may look like truths being exposed, conversations that can no longer be avoided, or a deeper reflection on where power lives in your relationships—with others and with money itself.

We’re also working with Mars trine Uranus, which invites liberating action. There may be unexpected moves that need to be made, or a sudden urge to act in ways that feel freeing. Stay open to what wants to move through you.

At the same time, Mars is sextile Saturn, offering structural support. The actions you take—especially the surprising or liberating ones—are not random. They’re part of a longer restructuring process that’s nearing completion.

This feels like some of the final movement before the Saturn–Neptune conjunction on February 20 in Aries. (If you want to go deeper into that transit, I cover it more fully on the podcast and in a recent blog post.)

Mercury sextile Neptune is also active, making this a beautiful day for creativity, imagination, writing, speaking, and intuitive communication. Let your thinking soften. Let inspiration lead.

Thursday: Mercury Conjunct Pluto — Truth Through Words

Thursday may bring intense or necessary conversations.

With Mercury conjunct Pluto, there’s an unearthing that happens through communication and within the mind. Pay close attention to your words, the conversations you’re having, and the voice inside your head. What stories are being revealed? What truths are asking to be named?

This is powerful energy for journaling, therapy, research, investigation, or tackling difficult topics related to power dynamics. If you need to get to the bottom of something, this is a day to use that focus and depth intentionally.

Mars sextile Neptune adds a layer of meaning here—the actions you take now are connected to something deeper, more inspired, and more aligned with your values. Let what surfaces inform the steps you take next.

Friday: Sun Conjunct Pluto — Illumination

By Friday, the Sun conjuncts Pluto, bringing visibility and awareness.

What light is being shed on power dynamics, particularly through Aquarius themes? After the relational work, the conversations, and the inner processing, the Sun helps clarify what all of this means. You may gain insight into how these shifts are playing out in your life, your community, or the collective at large.

This is about seeing clearly—not just what needs to change, but where your power actually lives.
